What to do

The many historical sites in Paphos will probably keep you quite busy. The Tombs of the Kings is a site located underground and dating from the 4th century BC. The tombs are carved in solid rock, making them quite unique.

The incredible mosaic floors of the 3rd century noblemen's villas are Paphos’s most important historical attraction. Considered among the finest in the Eastern Mediterranean, the mosaics depict scenes from Greek mythology.

Saranta Kolones is a Lusignian fortress that was destroyed by an earthquake in the 13th century. It is now an interesting tourist attraction. Also of interest is Paphos castle, a Byzantine fort beside the harbour. The District Archaeological, Byzantium, and Ethnographical museums are three of the best in the city.
