What to do

The capital, Ibiza Town, is a historic centre and offers a great selection of beaches and boasts a hectic nightlife. The main Street and marina district, Vara de Rey, is a must with its wide variety of shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Consisting of cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings, the town also has an interesting old square. A popular site here is the Museum of Archaeology.

A short car ride northwest of Playa Cavallet, a popular nudist beach, is San Antonio and is one of the liveliest areas in the Mediterranean. For late nights and lazy days, tourists join here from all over Europe. San Antonio bay is packed with cafes and bars and a 14th century parish nearby.

Santa Eulalia del Rio is a beautiful town with an under populated beach. The nearby beaches at Cala Llonga, Playa d’es Cana and Cala Llena are the best on the island. The salt flats in La Salinas, south of Ibiza town, provide a postcard perfect photo op.

Every water sport imaginable is available on the island, ranging from windsurfing and snorkelling to fishing. Activities on land include horse riding, golfing and go carting.
