Benidorm holiday travel
Benidorm is popular for lovers of sun, sea and sand. The blue flag beaches are amongst the finest in all Europe. By night time Benidorm is transformed into an entertainment mecca with restaurants and exotic nightclubs.
Where to stay – hotels
There are arguably more hotels than shops in Benidorm. The Grand Hotel Bali is actually one of the tallest buildings in all of Spain and looms over the Benidorm skyline.
There are also smaller hotels and guest houses. There are some excellent value deals when booking Benidorm hotels on-line.
The majority of Benidorm hotels are located on the seafront at La Cala and Poniente, Levante, Ricon de Loix, Albir and the town centre. Look for your hotel in Benidorm online. There are also many self catering apartments available. To find out more about Benidorm based hotels visit this site.
What to do
Benidorm is primarily a beach resort. Benidorm’s beaches stretch for miles. The main spots are Levante and Poniente, both having blue flag status.
Lovers of history will be disappointed, little is left in the way of the old town. The Plaza de la Senoria is interesting with its church and further down is the Centro Cultural Maritimo and fisherman museum.
Further out of town are the ruins of the Castillo-Mirador de Benidorm which offers great views overlooking the beach. Shoppers should visit the Marine Complex with its interesting shops, bars and restaurants.
There is night entertainment to suit all tastes. There is a lively bar scene with various forms of live music and plenty of nightclubs but there are also a number of cabarets, comedians and ball room dancing to choose from.
What to do – by car hire
A great day out can be had by hiring a car and visiting many of the villages off the main tourist track. The villages are hospitable; with friendly faced villagers, good food and scenic splendour. To book a Benidorm hire car go online.
Other day trips by car hire might include a visit to the Canelobre Caves 30 miles from Alicante, or a visit to the town of Altea and the waterfall nearby. There are also the towns of Valencia, Alicante and Murcia, all quite unique and certainly different than the tourist hoards of Benidorm.
Costa Blanca itself has some stunning scenery with miles of mountainous terrain. The coastline here is quite spectacular and a hire car is the best way to get around. For more information about car hire in Benidorm click here.
Javea 50 miles from Benidorm is very interesting. The views from the most western point of the Costa Blanca are remarkable and there are natural attractions including the Cueva de Agua Dulce and Cova de las Calaveres.
